Our Mermaid Club Ambassador, Karen, reflects on her New York City Marathon experience and shares three very important lessons that all mermaids should adhere to!
At first I thought that I was going to write this piece after I finally finished my half Ironman distance race because I thought it would be a better story and completing the race would help my writing. I also wanted to write something after the race so it could actually make me do the race! However, I realize the best time to write this is when I am feeling the anxiety and fear and that is now. With two days left to race day I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. As some of you may know fear and anxiety can lead to a depression which in turn makes me feel like a failure.
